Glue Traps: A Sticky Situation for Wildlife

Posted on December 31, 2019 Leave a Comment

It is the time of year when mice may find their way into your home in search of warmth and food.  There are a variety of different mouse traps on the market, including one of the most common: glue traps. But unfortunately, these are also one of the most inhumane. Glue traps are painful and work slowly. They also trap more than just insects and mice.

At City Wildlife, we have admitted over forty wild animals who have found themselves stuck on glue traps, including songbirds, snakes, and flying squirrels. The glue is so sticky that animals can lose feathers, scales, fur, and skin. Sadly, glue traps can be fatal for these unintended animals.

When ridding your house of unwanted pests, please do so humanely and stay clear of glue traps.

If you find a sick or injured wild animal who needs help, please call us at (202) 882-1000.
