Bald Eagles eat carrion. Unfortunately, this can put them at risk for lead poisoning. If a deer or other animal is shot with a lead bullet, the lead contaminates the rest of the body. If scavengers, such as Bald Eagles, eat the carcass, they can become poisoned.
