Wish List

City Wildlife is constantly seeking opportunities to provide our patients the very best of care. Contributions of the following major donation items, which can be made in honor or memory of someone, will greatly increase our patients’ chances of recovery and return to the wild.

Funds sent directly to City Wildlife and earmarked for the purchase of these items are tax-deductible as allowed by law. The items can also be purchased online through the links provided and sent to City Wildlife at 15 Oglethorpe Street, NW, Washington DC  20011.

Turtle caging: $4,646.79

City Wildlife has cared for more than 170 box turtles in the past eleven years.  New caging will give these patients the essential temperature, humidity, and UV lighting they need.

New anesthetic machine setup: $1,472.50

For the safety of our patients and employees alike during surgeries, we need to replace our anesthesia machine.

Fluid warmer: $775.00
This device will ensure that our patients are hydrated with fluids that are not only balanced with electrolytes and minerals, but also warmed for comfort.

Class IV laser: $28,200

Zoos and wildlife rehabilitation centers use lasers to speed healing and decrease pain in animals with the most severe wounds, nerve injuries, and fractures. The Companion Animal Health Laser Therapy Device offers the best quality and scientific design for City Wildlife’s patients.

Surgical Instruments

City Wildlife performs surgeries routinely and need several surgical instruments for foreign-body removal and orthopedic surgery.

Handheld Ultrasound: $4,190.00

This compact ultrasound device will give City Wildlife enhanced diagnostic capabilities with our small patients.

Bair Hugger: $1,046.90

Keeping small patients warm during surgery is critically important, and ours are as small as 5 grams (2/10th of an ounce)! A Bair Hugger uses warm air, which is safer than heating pads or hot water bottles. We can disinfect and reuse the washable blankets, which are sold separately for $39.95.
